Megan Frye, PhD

Megan Frye, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents and families. Dr. Frye specializes in the assessment and treatment of developmental, behavioral, and emotional challenges including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, depression and trauma. She also conducts evaluations for giftedness. Dr. Frye provides services to children and families in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Frye draws primarily from cognitive behavioral and systems theory, as well as other evidence-based treatments including dialectical behavior, parent-child interaction and mindfulness-based therapies. Her assessment and treatment is guided by a belief in the importance of collaborative problem solving and a supportive therapeutic relationship. She works closely with her clients and their families to understand individual strengths and help use those strengths to overcome challenges. Dr. Frye also consults and collaborates with schools and other community providers to help encourage consistent support across all environments in a child or adolescent’s life.

Dr. Frye earned her PhD. in school psychology from the University of Washington. She completed her general child clinical psychology internship at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah where she gained specialized training in the treatment of trauma and anxiety disorders in children. She completed a post-doctoral clinical fellowship in the Bernier Research Lab at the University of Washington Autism Center focusing on the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. Previous to completing her Ph.D., Dr. Frye also earned a master’s degree in psychology at Humboldt State University and worked as a nationally certified school psychologist and licensed mental health counselor locally in preschool and elementary schools in California and Washington.

In addition to her current work, Dr. Frye holds a licensed psychologist position at Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic and serves as a consultant for providers in school-based health clinics throughout Seatte.
